On this installation the PSS system has been installed on a Yard vehicle. Although this vehicle does not need to meet PSS requirements the enhanced safety provide by warning drivers of any pedestrian close to the vehicle significantly reduces the risk of accidents on the site.
Despite the focus of safety systems that help prevent accidents involving cyclists, 40% of deaths in a workplace involve vehicles. The same technology that helps prevent accidents involving cyclists on the road helps prevent accidents involving pedestrians at a worksite.
In addition to Front and Side Camera driver vision and pedestrian detection cameras, the vehicle has been fitted with our VRUD-52V camera which will detect pedestrians over the full length of the vehicle and trailer.
Finally, as there is a blind hitch underneath the body of the vehicle, a hitch cameras has been fitted underneath the vehicle bed along with a Reversing camera on the trailer.
